Douglas Beech, MD, is a psychiatrist that has been in practice in central Ohio for 32 years. He is board-certified in Psychiatry (1996) and Forensic Psychiatry (1998) by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and has twice been re-certified in both specialties. He formerly served as a consultant to Franklin County Residential Services of the Franklin County Board of MRDD (from 1993-2018) and to Consumer Support Services of Licking County (from 1996-2018).

Dr. Beech received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (formerly the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine) after a bachelor’s degree in Integrated Life Sciences from Kent State University. After an internship in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in Columbus, he completed his residency in Psychiatry at Harding Hospital where he also served as Chief Resident.

After serving as medical director of partial hospitalization at Harding, Dr. Beech then served as Chief of Adult Inpatient Psychiatry (1995-1999) at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus where he continued to be a member of the active medical staff until 2015. Dr. Beech is on the auxiliary faculty at Wexner Medical Center/Ohio State University Department of Psychiatry where he serves as a psychotherapy supervisor for senior psychiatry residents.

Dr. Beech is a past president of the Psychiatric Society of Central Ohio, and is also a member of:
